Full Content Search
All users can search for IT topics using the public Title Search box.
Members can access a second Search box in the toolbar, which covers text search across all content. Just like the Title Search function, topics with matching text will show in the dropdown list. When you click a link and navigate to the topic page, the matching text will be clearly highlighted on it.
This Content Search feature works like a “Control F” for the entire site and is a powerful addition to the standard Title Search function!

Quick Precise Filtering
All users can filter topic lists by Access Level to quickly see which topics have Public access.
Members can combine four filters to quickly see matching topics based on Tech Level, Topic Type, Concept Tag, and Video Clip availability.
These intuitive filtering capabilities are similar to those on shopping sites and unique among IT information sites. For example, you can easily select all the IT Tools in the Solution Delivery function layer that focus on Version Control and have a video clip.
These advanced filters are vital for ease of use and high productivity.

Additional Job Profiles
All users have access to Job Profiles at the Essential level. These include common IT jobs such as Business Analyst, Project Manager, Software Developer, etc., and provide a great introduction to essential IT jobs.
Members enjoy access to all Job Profiles and our “In Depth” ones. The standard Job Profiles prioritize brevity and cover the essence of an IT job with a reading time of just 2-3 minutes, just like other topics on our platform.
Our “In Depth” profiles prioritize “completeness” and provide a real “deep dive” into the details of a role. That way, you have a comprehensive description of that IT Job for when you want to go further.
Coverage of Job Profiles will expand as we develop all site content and should reach around 200 IT Jobs.

Handy Job Term Lists
The IT Dictionary section uses Function Layer categories and Concept Tags to organize topics into logical groups. It is not feasible to also indicate which IT Jobs a topic is associated with, as many topics would need to be connected to many jobs. Instead, our Term Lists provide an index of the most relevant topics for a specific IT Job.
We provide Term Lists for many core IT jobs so Members can quickly browse topics by job.
These have:
- An intro area with a short list of the most common terms for all users
- Two Members-only lists with the most common Terms and IT Tools for that job
If we have published an article about a topic in the IT Dictionary, then the Term List will include that topic with an active link. This way, you can easily go back and forth and review topics by IT Job.
Should a term not have a link, it is either not yet covered in the IT Dictionary or is mostly specific to this job. Our brief on-page description then serves as the primary clarification for the item!

Tech Job Terms also enables easy options for interacting with our team.
All Members can privately discuss IT topics with our team through our easy Ticket Portal. We provide prompt responses, and your ticket history is retained. There are no AI bots or other annoying “chat boxes” to deal with, but just a straightforward ticketing system.
To expand this “human approach” further, we optionally provide LIVE support on a Google Meet or Zoom call for Members who have been active for 6 months or more. We can accommodate call times within Mountain Standard Time (USA MST) timezone business hours.
Such calls enable us to have a meaningful and enjoyable live conversation, discuss your question in detail, and use screen sharing to clarify things. They also provide us with helpful insights on potential IT Handbook improvement options that benefit all Members.
In short, Members can easily receive productive assistance through direct interaction with our team!
